Shasta Mayflies Fly Fishing Club
The Shasta Mayflies is a women-oriented fly fishing club that encourages the enjoyment of fly fishing as a sport through expert educational presentations, hands-on practice and fellowship.
Our members' skill levels range from women who have never fished to those with a lot of river miles behind them.
Programs
We are fortunate to live - and fish - in northern California, a very beautiful and popular fly fishing destination. As a result, we are able to attract talented speakers to our club meetings.
Program topics have included presentations on basic and advanced fishing techniques, fly tying tips, casting seminars, fishing destinations and more! View our Meetings & Programs webpage for more info.
Outings
The Mayflies organize fishing outings to lakes and streams within driving distance of Redding. These events give us the opportunity to learn about new places to fish and how to fish them. Best of all, we have fun! Check out our fishing photos on our Photo Album webpage.
Outings are a great way to improve our fly fishing skills through the friendly exchange of tips and techniques. View our Outings webpage for more info.
Community Service
The Shasta Mayflies promote and encourage youth, physically challenged and senior fly fishing anglers. Our community involvement has included casting instruction, informational booths, assisting kids and providing scholarships to a summer fly fishing camp for kids.
Conservation
Our club supports the conservation of our natural resources through organizations dedicated to the preservation and restoration of northern California fisheries.
